We worked with Steve from Event Entertainment. He was great! We had a very easy time planning our wedding music with him. He was great about returning messages and always willing to answer any questions. We met with him twice before the wedding. The first meeting was for us to all get to know each other and talk about some of the basic details. Our second meeting we came prepared with our top song choices and Steve helped us take care of the rest. We planned out our evening and he helped it all flow smoothly. He let us pick out as many songs as we wanted but then was able to take it from there. We had a great time and so did our guests! Event Entertainment was easy and helpful. They were affordable and provided great service.

My husband and I chose Steve as our DJ because of his
personality and expansive knowledge of music. The first time we
met with him, he asked us questions about ourselves and our
families in order to get a good feel for what we like and how
our family dynamics work. On the big day, Steve did a wonderful
job! Not only is he an excellent DJ, he is a true entertainer.
The dance floor was crowded the whole night and everyone had a
great time. Steve worked the crowd and played songs that drew
out every guest to the dance floor at some point in the night.
He really knows his stuff! Steve was also very flexible to the
additions/modifications we made during the reception and

Although I was in charge of finding the “DJ”, my wife and I interviewed with several different people and companies. Then we came across Event Entertainment, who were recommended by another DJ that was booked on our weekend. I left a voicemail for Dave Holmes and he promptly returned my call. I had requested a meeting to see if they would be suitable for our event. We met with DJ Mike and we quickly realized he would be the perfect fit. Out of all the meetings we had, he was the only one that listened to what we wanted-simple and elegant.
On the day of the wedding, DJ Mike was truly outstanding. The 2941 Restaurant was our venue. Security at the General Dynamics Building is crazy. As much as they delayed DJ Mike, he didn’t miss a beat. He had everything setup on time outside on the terrace and in the reception area. Thanks to DJ Mike, our guess didn’t even realize the ceremony was late because of a minor glitch on our part. From the introductions, to the first dance, all the way to the last dance, DJ Mike kept the party going.
This is what really stood out for us when we reflect on that night. DJ Mike is a true professional. To us, a true professional listens to what you have to say, makes great suggestions when asked and delivers when it counts. During dinner, he kept the music simple and elegant. DJ Mike let me know when songs were requested that were not appropriate. One of the things that we thought were amazing was fact that he always had people dancing. We believe he was the reason that we were able to see everyone (100% of our guests) dance.
Overall, our experience with Dave and DJ Mike was truly outstanding and refreshing in an area (D.C.) were customer service is not always excellent. Both were very helpful and accommodating. DJ Mike made our event. We would use their service again in a heartbeat.

I had Dave Holmes as the DJ for my wedding and he was great. I
talked with him a few days before the wedding to go over
pronunciations of names and make sure he knew everything I
wanted. I gave him the timeline for the events and he made sure
everything was on schedule. We all had a great time dancing and
the music was good. He even gave us a CD of all the songs he
played at the end of the night and made a short video of the
highlights of the evening. At the end of the night he told us
that he was really sick but no one had any clue. He is a very
good DJ and one I would recommend. We already have him booked

compliments on him from our guests. We had a multi-cultural
wedding (I'm American and my husband's Peruvian) and he handled
the diversity in music really well. He had both sides dancing!
He tried very hard to fulfill all our requests and their system
for planning out the reception online is very easy to use and
super convenient. Whenever I had a question they were always
very quick to respond and never gave me any problems. I even
changed the times for him to be there 2 weeks before the wedding
and they did it with no complaints!

Mike was wonderful! I can not say a enough good things about
Mike. He was very easy to work with over the phone (as we did
not meet until the day of) and I was impressed with his

DJ John Torrez was great! I loved how he incorporated my (bride's) requests and the general feeling of the songs I was going for. We had some Spanish speakers and mostly English speakers but he kept the party going with a mixed playlist. Our guests commented on how fun it was and how the music was great (and how we didn't have any clichéd wedding music!). Overall I would highly recommend him. On another note: the Event entertainment website was great. The song list request forms were thorough and easy to use, I was very happy to have the ability to choose a lot of music beyond the standard "wedding music" paper form that I've seen other companies use.

We had DJ John Torres of Event Entertainment for our wedding. He definitely kept people on the dance floor until way after midnight. The sound system was excellent. I would have preferred BOSE, which wasn't available at that night and I was very happy with the provided sound system. Event Entertainment has a website where you can make your own play list (if you prefer that), including the timing. The DJ showed up in adequate attire. We had a meeting beforehand which left me with a very good impression. John really listened to us. We had to start the ceremony half an hour late. John was booked only for the reception and since he started while everybody was still eating, because of the earlier delay, he was flexible and played adequate dinner music. And all of this without interrupting the course. He just did what had to be done. I would recommend him ANYTIME.

I just wanted to finally thank you for the above and beyond amazing job you did DJing for our (Don & Elise Harrington) wedding that took place September 27, 2008. In planning the wedding, my biggest concern and effort was in making the reception a truly fun celebration -- and as everyone knows, that's incredibly tough with weddings when you're planning for a crowd with a variety of tastes and of different generations. Despite my not really knowing too much what I wanted played and my mother's anxious pre-wedding nixing of your suggestions, I can say that I have never had so much fun in my life. You completely tuned into what would get everyone dancing and kept it going all night! Everyone had a blast, if that wasn't already visible :) It's been a month and friends and family are still talking about how awesome the reception was. I've had wedding attendee pros telling me it was their favorite wedding ever. I was so worried I would be too anxious as the bride to feel comfortable dancing with everyone watching, (I've been to weddings where the music wasn't too good and not too many people wanted to dance.. I was dreading something like that happening), but every time I had to stop for photos or even do the cake cutting, all I could think was 'ah man, I want to go back to dancing!'. There were even times where the literal dance floor was filled to the brim and people were dancing off to the sides. You did a noticeably professional job with MCing as well -- I loved when you had my sister announce the bride and groom; that was such a sweet idea. To summarize, the music is obviously the biggest part a wedding reception, and you delivered it better than I could have imagined! I had guests say goodbye because they had to leave only to see them still there to the very end. Our photographer said it was the best wedding she had ever been too (wow)! I was nervous I would be so anxious that I wouldn't have fun but I can honestly say whole heartedly that it really was the happiest day of my life. I can't thank you enough! Phil was great! I got SO MANY compliments on the music and how it was one good song after another. The only complaint I got was no one wanted to get off the dance floor and rest so they were really tired by the end of the wedding. The price was right and Phil was fabulous! Adam & I were very impressed with Mr. Becker. He adjusted the music selection to suit the mood of our guests, and every song made me say, "Ooh, I have to dance to this one!". We didn't leave the dance floor for the entire evening, and neither did most of our guests. He did a fabulous job.

Dave, I've been meaning to thank Bud personally for his quick wit and improvisation with the turn of events on Thanksgiving. He was the perfect choice for our dinner/reception.
